Zaftig Zine – Issue 01, 2026

UNWIELDY RABBLE is the first issue of Zaftig and arrives as a thick ring binder, a heavy hardcover promise filled with articles, editorials, visuals, loose thoughts and what not. You get the binder already loaded with the first drop, and it’s built to keep getting stuffed as new ones come in, turning into an ever-growing mess of culture you assemble yourself.

Are you suffering from your own independent thoughts? The first issue of zaftig covers the sticky mass of ideas, institutions and identities that refuse clarity. We call it the UNWIELDY RABBLE, a collective body dragging itself through the digital ether, overexposed, overheated, still performing.

Inside: That group wank of recognition, “mouthly” pleasures, into the macrodose, worm-like behaviour, a subconscious with bad plumbing, redacted content, secret sauce, some heavy math, viscous layers, postbody anything, a lot of fatigue, värk, glass delusion, a great dry-down, and ofc mod? hög! Featuring Ellen Kowka, Namasenda, AK Cinder, Leo Costelloe, rustcakes, R(AT) R(AT) R(AT), Hanna and Xirley Harthey Kisch, Charlie Le Mindu, Khan Guovarde, Lovie Peoples, Naomi Gilon, Alice Shulman, Sultan Mosawi, Pigeon Boy & Victor Langer.
