Duality Collection Launch, 2024
Duality is a cross-disciplinary exhibition presenting the latest collection by designer Mikaela Mårtensson, b.1995, under the knitwear label Mega Mikaela. 

The exhibition, curated in collaboration with HUD SPACE, explores the ideas of dualistic cosmology and dives into the spiritual belief that the opposite concepts of good and bad exist within all human beings.

In her creative process, Mikaela has drawn inspiration from the mythical conflict called War in Heaven which describes Archangel Satan's conflict with God, leading up to his banishment to Christian Hell. Her work symbolises the contrasts between angel-like and demoniacal creations.

Her knitwear brand is heavily influenced by historical garments in combination with modern art, aiming to build a narrative between the past and the future. In her work, the exploration of different materials through the craftsmanship of crochet and knitting is the core of the creative process, where the de-pacing of fashion is a key function and belief.

Mega Mikaela is a knitwear label founded by Mikaela Mårtensson in 2021.
